Was the nickname one of my bosses gave me— small, fast, and slightly terrifying in my determination to figure this whole recruitment thing out. I wanted to know exactly how to own my market, work smarter (not just harder), and close more deals than anyone thought possible.

Three times Law grad turned recruiter,

I didn’t mean to end up in recruitment, but once I landed there, that was it. Law did come in handy though — solving problems, reading between the lines, cutting through waffle, and negotiating solid contracts.

Started in perm and went to contract - with still a few perm deals every year (just to prove I still had it in me).

In the last decade I’ve been:
  • the rookie who grew a desk from £125k to £525k in 12 months
  • a top biller doing 54 deals in a year
  • billing manager and (alleged) non-billing manager (still 30+ placements a year)
  • the one who set up an overseas office from scratch
  • a leader who managed teams across multiple locations
  • the person who hired, fired, trained, crashed with a brutal burnout — and rebuilt completely
  • the COO of a tech company
  • the passionate one who set up on her own and had 5 runners out in month 1
